We are incredibly proud of our latest Ofsted inspection, which recognised the many strengths of St Weonards Academy and the positive experiences we provide for our children.
Our Ofsted Highlights
Early Years – Strong Standard
Ofsted recognised the consistently strong practice within our Early Years provision. Children benefit from a calm, nurturing environment, high-quality interactions and purposeful learning opportunities that enable them to develop independence and make strong progress.
Personal Development and Wellbeing – Strong Standard
Our personal development provision was recognised as a significant strength. Pupils develop a strong understanding of equality and diversity, relationships, physical and mental health, online safety and British values. They also benefit from a wide range of experiences that enrich their learning and broaden their horizons.
Safeguarding Standards Met
Ofsted confirmed that safeguarding standards are met and recognised the school’s open culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Pupils feel safe and know that concerns will be identified and acted upon.
A Caring and Inclusive School
Our pastoral support was identified as a strength. Staff know pupils well, respond quickly when concerns arise and ensure children have trusted adults they can speak to. Pupils from our resource base are fully included in wider school activities, helping to create a strong sense of belonging.
Positive Behaviour and Attitudes
Pupils behave well and demonstrate positive attitudes towards their learning. Ofsted noted that behaviour incidents are extremely rare and that pupils feel safe and well supported.
Happy Children Who Enjoy School
Inspectors found that pupils arrive at school happy and ready to learn. They enjoy their learning, value the opportunities available to them and describe St Weonards as a friendly and inclusive school where they feel they belong.
