PSHE & Values

Learning a language makes our minds stronger and more flexible. Using it gives us an entirely new experience of the world.

At St Weonards Academy, we aim to provide young people with the knowledge, attitudes and practical skills to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. We believe the ethos of the school should be built on a foundation of core values, which are; Determination, Resilience, Equality, Appreciation and Mindfulness (DREAM Values).

We encourage all our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community through our pupil councils, Year 6 prefects, fundraising events, supporting both local and national charities and involvement in community activities.
At St Weonards Academy, we believe the teaching of PSHE supports pupil wellbeing and gives the pupils lifelong skills needed to manage their lives successfully in the future. We have adopted the Kapow scheme which fulfils all elements of the statutory National Curriculum from EYFS to Year 6. Our PSHE curriculum, makes clear links with British Values, Cultural capital and SMSC but PSHE is also embedded within the wider curriculum through cross-curricular work and underpins behaviour and respect in all lessons and everything we do.
