British Science Week!

Last week we celebrated British Science Week at St Weonards Academy. We incorporated all areas of the curriculum into a fun filled week based on the theme ‘Innovating for the future’. The children engaged in a wide range of scientific experiments and entered two competitions. We even designed our very own inventions!

Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Art

We did a whole school project based on Andy Goldsworthy. The children used all natural materials found on our school grounds and made some beautiful art. Even when the wind was against us!

Autumn Discovery

The children in Seahorse Class have been learning all about Autumn. We went on an Autumnal walk around our school grounds, took photographs on the Ipads and made leaf angels!  

Forest School

During our Forest School sessions this half term we have been busy making leaf bowls, creating small world gardens, den building and making bird feeders. Visit to school by author C.S. Clifford

We have been very privileged to have the author C.S.Clifford in school to work with the children.  All pupils were extremely engaged and it has inspired many of the pupils to write their own stories afterwards.

Reception Children Settling In

Seahorse Class have enjoyed welcoming our new reception children into their class. The children have all settled in well and have been busy exploring their new environment. Reception have had a lot of fun playing, making new friends and learning their new routine. Below are some pictures from their first week at school.

Pirates Day!

The children in Seahorse class have had a fantastic dress up day and been busy doing lots of pirate themed crafts. They have learned lots of facts about pirates this term and even chosen their own pirate names!

Beautiful School

St Weonards is looking particularly beautiful at the moment and the children have been capturing this through their Art lessons.
