National Coding Week 2024

Last month we celebrated National Coding Week at St Weonards Academy. All of the children in KS1 and KS2 developed their programming skills. The KS1 pupils programmed floor robots called Bee-bot and moved on to programming apps on the iPads.The children in Sharks class worked on Scratch at various levels.

Ofsted Inspection

Hereford Cathedral Trip

This week our KS2 pupils visited Hereford Cathedral as part of our RE lessons. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn and reflect on the Easter story, to find out about the history of the building and it’s architecture.

Coding Micro:Bits

Our Sharks class created animations with code which lit up the LEDs on our BBC Micro:Bits. https://microbit.org/get-started/what-is-the-microbit/ Next week we will be adding variables and a selection of different inputs to make a Polling Station.

STEM Day 2023

On Monday, KS2 spent part of the day experimenting with code and creating models with Lego WeDo 2.0. World Book Day 2023

Last Thursday, the children enjoyed dressing up as either their favourite character from a book or poem for World Book Day. Throughout the day, the children engaged in a range of activities linking to poems and stories. The children in pre-school made gingerbread for the whole school….they were delicious!
