Roaming Reptiles Surprise Visit

On Tuesday, the children received a surprise visit from Roaming Reptiles as part of our ‘Animal Themed Week’. The children were given the opportunity to learn about and handle a range of reptiles. Everyone was very brave and enjoyed interacting with the different species.

Jubilee Celebrations

We celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee by hosting a tea party with delicious scones made by Starfish class. This was followed by a fun afternoon of traditional playground games.

Stop Frame Animation

Sharks class have started learning about stop frame animation. They’ve made their modelling clay appear ‘alive’ by using the onion skinning feature on Stop Motion Studio app on the iPads. We’re looking forward to seeing all their finished movies.

Micro:bit Programming

Today Sharks class created a polling program using Microsoft Makecode website and downloaded it to our BBC Micro:bit devices. Computer Coding in Year 5

Well done to our buddy computer programmers in Year 5 today. The embarked on their first lesson involving the use of BBC Micro:bits. They did a great job of connecting them to their laptops and creating code to animate them.

HMFA Football Tournament

Today the children travelled to Sutton Primary Academy to take part in a HMFA Football Tournament. The children enjoyed competing with the other schools within the federation. They showed great determination, worked brilliantly as a team and showed fantastic sportsmanship. We had a lovely day in the sunshine. Well done KS2!

Comic Relief 2022

Last week for Comic Relief the children at St Weonards Academy took part in a sponsored walk followed by a cake sale. The children in KS2 made both cakes and lemonade for their peers to enjoy. The cakes were beautifully decorated and were a well deserved treat after our long walk.
