Forest School – making dandelion paint

Last week the children in Starfish class made our own dandelion paint during our forest school session. First of all we collected dandelion heads from our extensive school grounds. We made sure that there was plenty left for the bees to enjoy.

The children loved crushing the flowers with stones and water and then squeezing out the to extract the yellow pigment to make paint. Afterwards, they painted their own artwork with their special natural eco-friendly paint.
