Reading Buddies

The children in both KS1 and KS2 have enjoyed sharing books together. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children as they experience reading for pleasure and get to show other children their super reading skills. The KS2 children are always eager to support KS1 with their decoding which promotes our school values.Â
Christmas Production

Festive Bake-off – Nativity What a wonderful performance by the children of St Weonards Academy this week at their Christmas production – ‘A Festive Bake-Off!’ Well done to all the staff and pupils for all their hard work, which culminated with a thoroughly enjoyable and adorable version of the nativity story.
Raglan Trip

Starfish, Seahorses and Octopus Class all enjoyed a visit to Raglan Farm Park where we met lots of different animals, burnt our energy off in all their different play zones and were even lucky enough to meet Father Christmas. https://www.raglanfarmpark.com
Reindeer and Father Christmas Visit

We were visited by Father Christmas and his reindeer on Thursday 12th December. All the children loved meeting them. This special treat was all thanks to Sunshine radio where the school won a festive joke competition. What an exciting prize and well done Sharks class with their hilarious joke!
Christmas Trip

On Wednesday 4th December Starfish, Octopus and Seahorse classes went to visit Raglan Farm Park. The children learnt about the animals living on the farm as well as enjoying the play facilities on offer. To end our day the children visited Santa in his grotto and received a gift. The children had a lovely day!Â
Christmas Baking!

As part of our Christmas celebrations Seahorse Class have been busy baking gingerbread. The children rolled the dough, selected their cutter, and then decorated their biscuits. The children created either a reindeer or gingerbread man.Â
No Pens Day

On Wednesday 27th November the whole school celebrated No Pens Day. This was an opportunity to put down our pencils and put our speaking and understanding skills in the spotlight. Investigating the UK

In Geography, Seahorse Class have been learning about the UK and the coasts that surround it. The children used an atlas to locate each country within the UK as well as naming the surrounding seas and oceans. Super work Seahorses!Â
Anti-bullying Week – Choose Respect

This week the children have been wearing odd socks as part of Anti-bullying week. The children also created a list of ways in which we can be kind to each other and recorded these onto a sock. The socks will now be put on display for the whole school to see.Â
Tree Planting

Seahorse Class have been enjoying spending time outdoors planting a range of saplings that were kindly donated to us by The Woodland Trust. We discussed how tress are crucial for our survival and how they help the planet. Well done Seahorse Class!
