Save Our Rainforests

In Geography, KS2 children have been learning about rainforests around the world. We have been learning about deforestation and the impact this has, not only on the rainforests but the whole world. The children then produced posters to inform people, as well as persuade them to help to change their behaviour.

Children’s Mental Health Week

Last week was Children’s Mental Health Awareness week and Place2B have a really good link on their website for families to access.  There are videos/activities on the initial site https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/families/#resources and guidance for parents  https://www.parentingsmart.org.uk/ The children at St Weonards Academy have been involved in lessons involving positive mental health.

Safer Internet Day 2023

On Tuesday 7th February we celebrated Safer Internet Day 2023, by taking part in an assembly, having lessons on Hanni and the Window, Smartie the Penguin, Our Digital Footprints and more. Extinct Animals

In History, Seahorse Class have been learning about extinct animals that once lived in the sea. We learnt about megalodons, dunkleosteus, tylosaurus prorigers, frilled sharks and stupendemys. The children then used the iPads to recreate their own illustrations of these animals.

Electricity in KS2

Both Dolphin and Shark Class are learning about Electricity within their Science lessons. This week LKS2 were learning about complete and incomplete circuits and UKS2 were focusing on the symbols used within circuits. Both classes were provided with the opportunity to explore circuits practically.

Competition Win!

The children in Seahorse Class were very excited when they received the news that we had won a new mud kitchen for our outdoor area! We would like to thank Wood U Believe It Ltd for running the competition and for the service they provided us.

Save Our Oceans!

Seahorse Class have been learning all about pollution located within the ocean. In English, the children have created their own persuasive pieces of writing, persuading people to stop polluting our oceans. Well done Seahorses, these are fantastic pieces!

Rest in Peace, Your Majesty

The HMFA family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Royal Family as we join them in mourning our remarkable monarch, who led us with unparalleled grace, compassion and humility throughout her lifetime of devoted service.   Rest in peace, Your Majesty.

Raglan Farm Park
