Jubilee Celebrations

We celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee by hosting a tea party with delicious scones made by Starfish class. This was followed by a fun afternoon of traditional playground games.

Comic Relief 2022

Last week for Comic Relief the children at St Weonards Academy took part in a sponsored walk followed by a cake sale. The children in KS2 made both cakes and lemonade for their peers to enjoy. The cakes were beautifully decorated and were a well deserved treat after our long walk.

Science in Seahorse Class

In Science Seahorse Class have been learning about food chains. The children have also been finding out about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. We have been encouraging the children to also use the following vocabulary: producer, consumer and predator. Well done Seahorse Class, your food chains are brilliant!

British Science Week!

Last week we celebrated British Science Week at St Weonards Academy. We incorporated all areas of the curriculum into a fun filled week based on the theme ‘Innovating for the future’. The children engaged in a wide range of scientific experiments and entered two competitions. We even designed our very own inventions!

Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Art

We did a whole school project based on Andy Goldsworthy. The children used all natural materials found on our school grounds and made some beautiful art. Even when the wind was against us!

Autumn Discovery

The children in Seahorse Class have been learning all about Autumn. We went on an Autumnal walk around our school grounds, took photographs on the Ipads and made leaf angels!
