Comic Relief 2022

Last week for Comic Relief the children at St Weonards Academy took part in a sponsored walk followed by a cake sale. The children in KS2 made both cakes and lemonade for their peers to enjoy. The cakes were beautifully decorated and were a well deserved treat after our long walk.

The Romans have invaded!

In History, KS2 children are learning all about The Romans. At the beginning of term Dolphin Class was turned into a ‘museum’. The children got to explore a range of artefacts and research them. This got the children really engaged, wanting to know more and more about this time era.

British Science Week!

Last week we celebrated British Science Week at St Weonards Academy. We incorporated all areas of the curriculum into a fun filled week based on the theme ‘Innovating for the future’. The children engaged in a wide range of scientific experiments and entered two competitions. We even designed our very own inventions!

Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Art

We did a whole school project based on Andy Goldsworthy. The children used all natural materials found on our school grounds and made some beautiful art. Even when the wind was against us!

Visit to school by author C.S. Clifford

We have been very privileged to have the author C.S.Clifford in school to work with the children.  All pupils were extremely engaged and it has inspired many of the pupils to write their own stories afterwards.
